What is 'Key Square Tutorials'?

Key Square Tutorials is a collection of video tutorials focused on post-production software in the film/media industry. We've done our best to keep them short and sweet, focusing on very specific elements of the software, so you can get in and out and back to work!

What software do we teach?

We focus on Autodesk Maya, Adobe After Effects, and video editing. There is also an 'Other' category that includes short tutorials on how to use freeware software, such as MPEG Streamclip.

One day, we hope to feature a whole slew of software tutorials. However, we do not intend to teach everything. Simple, to-the-point tutorials that easily introduce viewers to initially intimidating software is our main goal. After that, we'll happily direct you to some great websites and sources so you can become a true master!

Why should I use these tutorials over the advanced ones at Digital Tutors or Video Copilot?

While other websites present some very impressive material, they sometimes overlook the basics that so many users get confused by. We are young professionals, so we look at modern software with a student's eye and we'd like to share our knowledge in a peer-to-peer atmosphere. We'll teach you what we know and, when you're ready, point you toward the great websites that helped us out.

What do I do if I know everything in these tutorials?

To a veteran user, these lessons may come across as too simple to be of any real use. Likewise, people who finish our tutorials may find themselves at a dead-end. We have full faith in our tutorials, but we know our limits, and we aren't going to hold you back. We want you to become a master, and we don't hide our teachers, so be sure to frequently visit our RESOURCES section.

KST is not trying to compete with the big dogs. As a matter of fact, we love the big dogs and want to see you love them too. We're here to help you make those first steps so you can keep doing what you love, whether it's your first steps or exploring the software at a master level.
